FOXPRO Shockwave Review: The Beast Game Call 2022

This high-end digital game call from FOXPRO is made in the United States, and it’s known for being high-quality.

With this caller from FOXPRO, even though it has been on the market for a few years now, they still set the bar very high.

When you buy the Shockwave for less than $500, you’ll think of it as the best electronic game call ever made.

Most important things about Shockwave

As soon as you start looking at all of the features and technology that FOXPRO has put into the Shockwave, you will see how sophisticated it is. It is a digital game call that has changed the way people think about them.

A quick look at these:

  • It comes with 100 calls of your choice and can be set up to have 1,000 calls.
  • 4GB of internal storage
  • FXP, 24B, MP3, or WAV files can be read.
  • a four-speaker set-up (2 horn speakers, 2 tweeters)
  • Speakers SWIVEL is used to direct sound in a certain way.
  • Rusty ABS outside housing.
  • It weighs 3.9 pounds and has a size of 5.75 inches by 12.25 inches by 7 inches.
  • The TX-1000 remote has a 2.7′′ Full-LED screen that is easy to read.
  • The moon phase, the temperature, and the barometer readings.
  • A timer for how long you can stand and a real-time clock.

FOXMOTION – Simulate the natural movement of prey by fading sound between the two speakers in a way that changes from left to right.
You can play any two sounds at the same time, and you can match any two sounds of your choice.
You can change the pitch of your calls to add a new dimension and make your prey react just when you need it.
For real hunting analytics, FOXDATA is the tool you want to use. In real time, it records things like the temperature and the moon phase and the barometer and the time it takes to stand up, take a picture, and so on.

Why Buy the FOXPRO Shockwave?

This electronic coyote call has all of the best features we’ve ever seen in one. With a price tag of almost $500, FOXPRO’s Shockwave isn’t cheap. But for the predator hunter who wants it all, you can finally get it all with this solid piece of gear.

Versatile Design and Features

The Shockwave is different from most other programmable callers because it has its own on-board display screen on the caller itself, so you don’t have to just use the remote to get information.

It will show the name and number of the sound list, the sound you’re currently playing, the volume level, mute status, and the battery level. It will also have scrolling buttons and a menu / select button, so you can choose what you want to see.

Rugged, Durable & Portable

A composite material called ABS is used to make the Shockwave. You can also be happy to know that ABS is made in the United States.

At 3.9 pounds, this e-caller is a little bigger than other e-callers on the market, but that’s because it has an extra horn speaker and tweeter.

If you’re a predator hunter, you probably won’t notice much of a difference when you carry this around because it’s only 5.75 inches by 12.25 inches by 7 inches.

Speakers and sound.

You can tell that the shockwave is already going up a notch by looking at how the design has been put together, so it’s already getting better. Horn speakers and tweeters (one on each side) with adjustable hinges will let you throw sound out in a bigger circle than you can with a single speaker caller, which has just one.

It has two external audio jacks in case you need more sound for some reason. Because these FOXPRO speakers are so good, we don’t think you’ll ever need to do this because of how well they work.

Shockwave Remote

When it comes to the FOXPRO TX1000 remote transmitter, we say it is the remote that rules them all!

There are things you would expect, like on and off, select and back, scroll and play/pause, mute, and volume controls.

It has a huge LCD screen that shows you everything you need to know, like how much battery power is left, how long it has been on standby, the temperature, and the moon phases.

It has 4 preset buttons on the top left and right sides of the remote that you can set up with your favorite calls or sequences, so you can get to the sounds you know work quickly.

There is a remote that works up to 100 yards away, but the actual performance may be higher or lower depending on whether you have clear line of sight and if the caller is a little higher or lower than you.

The range of the TX1000 will be enough for most hunting situations, even though it isn’t as long as ICOtec’s remote callers, which have a 300-yard range.

A large lanyard loop on the bottom of the remote makes it easy to attach to a lanyard, so you won’t forget or lose your remote while out in the field.

Programming Calls

The FOXPRO Shockwave is a programmable electronic caller that can store up to 1000 sounds on its 4GB internal memory. It can also be used to make calls. As it has its own memory, it comes with a mini usb cable that you can use to connect to your computer.

For free and for money, FOXPRO has a lot of high-quality sounds for you to start with. You can find more free and paid sounds on their website.

If you want to hear some new sounds, MFK calls work with FOXPRO programmable callers that can be changed. FXP, 24B, MP3, or WAV files can also be added if you have other sources of sounds.

A decoy can help you get your prey closer to you if you like to use one. The shockwave has an auxiliary jack so you can add a decoy to it. It does have to be a FOXPRO decoy, so if you don’t already have one, you’ll have to buy one.

To run everything, you’ll need 13 AA batteries, with 10 for the caller and three for the remote. This is a good amount of batteries for the bigger, more powerful phones.

Expect the batteries to last between three and seven hours of use, depending on things like volume, temperature (how hot or cold it is), and whether you’re using both speakers or making two calls at the same time.

FOXPRO rechargeable battery packs or high capacity rechargeable NiMH (Nickel metal hydride) batteries for the caller are always good options for any kind of electronic predator caller.

There is nothing worse than having a day of hunting cut short by your batteries running out of juice at the worst possible time.

Fox Features

There are many FOXPRO “techniques” that you may not have seen or heard of before. The Shockwave predator caller has a lot of them. There are a lot of things that make the shockwave stand out from its competitors in the market. The FOX FEATURES are what make it unique.

These features will make you never want to go back to a caller who doesn’t have them. Below, we go into more detail about each of these things:

A caller can make it hard to make your calls sound like they are coming from real animals. Coyotes are smart, and if they think something isn’t right, they’ll be careful about where they go.

When you use the FOXMOTION feature, you can fade your calls from each speaker in a certain direction, like from left to right. You can change the speed at which each speaker fades in and out, and it works even if you have other speakers connected.

This feature will help you “sell” your call sequences as real and natural, making them look like they’re moving.

A lot of times, calls can only play one sound at a time. To make your calls look even more real and natural, you can mix and match two sounds at the same time during a call. When FOXFUSION is on, you can also control the volume of each sound individually, as well as mute it.

With the FOXFUSION technology, you can now set up different scenarios to help you get what you’re looking for. Play a sound of a distressed cottontail and then add coyote growls over top of it to make it seem as though there is something really interesting going on!

With so many hunters using the same calls and sounds, and with people often going to the same places, you might need to have the upper hand when calling in coyotes.

FOXPITCH lets you change the pitch of your game calls so that you can get the perfect shot by triggering a response from your prey at the right time. You can do this to help you get the shot you want. This will also make them more unique and give your call library a whole new look.

Within the remote, there is a sensor that tells when your gun has been fired. As soon as you take a shot, the FOXBANG technology automatically places your caller in a certain place.

FOXBANG responds to the sound of a gun by automatically switching to a function that has been set up in the Shockwave remote. There are eight different settings for FOXBANG, and each one has a different sound.

There are many functions you can link to FOXBANG activation, such as FOXDATA, mute, auxiliary, preset 1, preset 2, preset 3, preset 4, and preset 5. These functions can be linked to FOXBANG.

When FOXBANG is activated, it will make a new record in your FOXDATA and do what you want it to do.

Our favorite feature is this one because sometimes we just want to know the hard truth about what happened on a hunt. It doesn’t matter if it was good or bad.

When you use FOXDATA, you get a real-time data storage program that lets you analyze your hunting for predators in a way that makes sense.

After each of your hunts, you can look at your data to see what conditions were most productive and deadly. This could be things like:

How hot or cold was it?
what moon phase is it?
what barometer reading?
How long did the stand last?
How long before the picture was taken?

By having the hard stats right in front of you, you can focus on your hunt right now, then take the time to look over all the information at a later time. I like how this lets me change my technique and become better at hunting prey over time.

Warranty for Five Years

FOXPRO has gone all-in on their warranty policy because they know that the quality of their materials and technology is unmatched, or even legendary, among experienced coyote hunters. This is why they have gone so far.

Most of the game calls they sell come with a long-call warranty. The FOXPRO Shockwave has the longest warranty of any of their electronic calls. As long as you buy the Shockwave, you can be sure it will work.

FOXPRO Shockwave: What do you think?

This is the best electronic coyote call that we have ever used. The Shockwave isn’t like any other predator call we’ve ever looked at because it has real data collection and hunting data.

There’s only one way to get better at technology if you’re already a stud hunter. You have to look at data. When you use the FOXPRO Shockwave on a hunt, you can look back at the hunts you took it on with FOXDATA. You can see when you were the most successful and when you had a lot of trouble. That alone is worth the price. This is a good thing.

There are a lot of features in the Shockwave even if you are just starting out and don’t think you need them all. You can easily move up a level with the information you have gathered and start to get better and better.

For serious hunters, the FOXPRO Shockwave is a must-have. If you’re not afraid of the price, it’s a great choice. If you buy it, you won’t have to worry about it for a long time. Most likely, you’ll never need to buy another electronic caller in your life.
